2ND BATTALION, 9TH INFANTRY YEARBOOK AUGUST 1969

2ND BATTALION (M), 9TH INFANTRY REGIMENT
AUGUST 1969 YEARBOOK

LTC JOHN J. MILLER

OFFICERS, NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS, AND TROOPERS OF THE 2ND BATTALION, 9TH INFANTRY:

Our heritage as members of the Second Battalion, Ninth Infantry, is indeed one of which to be proud. The history of this battalion and the performance of those gallant men who have preceded us in its ranks are truly "SECOND TO NONE". The past deeds of the battalion can today be equalled only through a most devoted effort by each and every one of us. This, I feel sure, we will give.

To be proud of the unit to which we belong comes easy. History is filled with accounts of vallant men and units battling under our colors. With this privilege of belonging to a proud, distinguished unit comes an obligation. This is to perform our assigned duties at all times, whatever they may be, in such a manner as to bring more credit to the battalion. Doing this, we can depart the Ninth Infantry knowing full well that we too have contributed to its splendid record.

This book represents a pictorial record of a few days of our service in this battalion. Many of the events which take place while we serve in Korea, in time will be forgotten. It is hoped that this book will assist, in the years to come, to recall a period of proud, faithful service to our Nation and the Ninth Infantry.

My sincere best wishes to each of you for continued success and much happiness.

KEEP UP THE FIRE!
